At the European Center for Therapeutic Assessment in Milan, Italy, June 2012, I facilitated discussion groups at the workshop “Working with Shame in Psychotherapy and Psychological Assessment.”
In July 2012, I was elected as Representative-At-Large of the Society for Personality Assessment Board of Trustees for a two-year term.
I was invited to join as a member of the Therapeutic Assessment Institute in June 2012. The Therapeutic Assessment Institute coordinates and sponsors training for those who wish to achieve certification in Therapeutic Assessment.
At an Essential Concepts and Skills Training workshop co-sponsored by the Therapeutic Assessment Institute and the Society for Personality Assessment, I will be co-leading role play breakout groups in which participants will practice the essential skills of therapeutic assessment. I will also be teaching about writing therapeutic stories for adults. The workshop will take place in Austin, Texas from June 4 through June 8, 2012.
On March 30, 2012, I presented to the members of the Center for Collaborative Psychiatry, Psychology, and Medicine on therapeutic neuropsychological assessment. My topic was “Getting In Clients’ Shoes via Psychological Tests: A Collaborative/Therapeutic Assessment Case Discussion.”
At the Society for Personality Assessment Annual Meeting in Chicago from Mar 14-18, 2012, I chaired two panels. Stephen E. I’m pleased to announce that my colleagues Stephen E. Finn, Constance T. Fischer, and Leonard Handler have just released their new book Collaborative/Therapeutic Assessment: A Casebook and Guide. My associate J.B. Allyn and I co-authored a chapter in this book titled “Collaboration in Neuropsychological Assessment: Metaphor As Intervention with a Suicidal Adult.” Here’s a description of the book:
